Back to blogging

Sorry everyone that I've been AWOL for so long... I've just moved to a new apartment in Dokki (on the west side of the Nile: residential and much more boring than the historical east side, but quieter and a much better place to study) and as soon as I get unpacked and settled, I'll post about my trip home, Istanbul, Upper Egypt with Greg, this whole Lebanon mess, and what the hell I'm doing with my life. I just wanted to quickly post this brief piece from the July/August Yale Alumni Magazine:

"You Say Hillel, I say Halal"

Good to see you're back. As for the article, I've got to say that I always thought the food at Slifka was terrible. What really got to me was once I went and they had potato blintzes (first strike: while some Jews eat them, I have a hard time believing that they enjoy it). But the real kicker was the lack of sour cream (it was a dairy meal).

What do you eat with potatoes? Sour cream. What do you eat with blintzes? Sour cream. What do you eat with potato blintzes? Apparently nothing. And at 1:00 I was the first person to ask for sour cream? Spare me.
